Good afternoon from the Ambassadresses’ desk. February flew by in such a flurry that even with the extra leap day we’re not sure where the time went. But the past is past, and we’re in the business of “what’s next.” And Spring is that.
First and foremost, Sunspot is BACK! In the taproom and soon if not immediately in some of your favorite restaurants and bars. In addition to that much anticipated spring seasonal, we’ll be adding a couple more in the next few weeks–Doom Slayer, a maple brown ale brewed entirely with maple sap instead of water, and 400 Divine Rabbits, a heavenly agave nectar wheat beer.In addition to the launches of these delightful brews, per usual we have events and collaborations both inside and outside the brewery on the calendar for the month of March. On March 8, Cleetus Friedman of City Provisions will be making a return trip to the brewery to create a very unique brew–a white ale with blood orange and fennel pollen. Later that evening, a few of the crew will be making their way to Goshen, Indiana for an awesome event at Constant Spring to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the Beer Nuts blog. We’re bringing six beers to the party–Sunspot, Anger, Retribution, 1825, Brother Benjamin and Cabra Perdida. Party starts at 5 p.m. CST. We hope to see you there!
Of course March leads to thoughts of two very different, highly celebrated things–St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness. Greenbush will be involved in a lot of awesome things on St. Patty’s. Of course, we’ll be celebrating in our own right at the brewery with a special food menu and all the beer that’s fit to pour. You’ll also be able to sample our new Rye Stout at the corned beef-off at David’s Delicatessen in New Buffalo, MI and at Local, New Buffalo’s sustainable food and cured meat shop. We’ll also be represented at the sold out Goose Island Stout Fest in Chicago. Just another weekend with the ‘bush! Oh, that March Madness thing? We’re workin’ on it… let’s just say, it’ll be a Sweet 16 tournament of Greenbush beers. Which do you think will come out on top?
Toward the end of the month we’re heading back to Grand Rapids for a beer dinner with 25 Kitchen + Bar–March 29 to be exact, from 7-9 p.m. You can find more details on their facebook event page, but trust me when I say all you need to know is 5 courses and 5 beer pairings for $25 and that it’s absolutely going to kick ass.
Almost finally, mug clubbers oughta keep their eyes peeled for an invite to a special event we’re throwing on Sunday, April 1–you’ll all receive your invite via email in the next couple weeks. On a more personal note, our crew is celebrating a bunch of birthdays this month–Joe W. coming up verrrrry soon and Kristen and Scott toward the end of the month. We would be absolutely nowhere without those three so a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY is in order.
