We kicked off this month the right way–with a killer April Fools’ Day joke. In case you missed it, Greenbush sold nearly 30% of its stake… to a family fun and amusement center. Many thanks go out to the entire crew at Rhino Media Productions, who managed to take our zany prank idea and turn it into a seriously well-produced video. Now that we made it out of the treachery that can be April Fools’ Day, let’s get to this month’s event schedule, which includes the return of our summer seasonal, SUNSPOT!
Saturday, April 11: Blue Chip Brewfest in Michigan City, IN
Blue Chip Casino is back at it again this year for the 5th annual Blue Chip Brewfest in Michigan City, Indiana. Enjoy beers from 40+ local, regional and national microbreweries throughout the afternoon, along with live entertainment from The Allen Wronko Band and Zydeco Voodoo. Tickets start at $45 per person and are still available.
Wednesday, April 15: Shears & Beers Fund-Razor + Sunspot Release at Greenbush
Sunspot release day is going to be a whole lot bigger this year, thanks to the addition of our Shears & Beers Fund-Razor event! Sunspot will be on tap and available in bottles all day (and for the rest of the summer), then from 2-8 p.m. at Greenbush, we’ll have three stylists/barbers on hand to give free hair cuts and trims and beard shaves to benefit a number of Southwest Michigan organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien & Cass Counties, Chikaming Open Lands and OCCDA (Overflow Christian Community Development Association). Participants will choose which organization they’d like to contribute to–the weight of all hair cutting endeavors will determine which organization receives the largest monetary donation from Greenbush in addition to donations from individuals.
The organization with the most hair collected will receive $1500 from Greenbush and Eagle Technologies (Bridgman); second most will receive $1000 from Greenbush and Sawyer Hardware & Lumber; and, the third heaviest collection will receive $500 from Greenbush and Seeder & Company Landscape Services (Sawyer). Individuals may also donate by purchasing raffle tickets for prizes associated with each organization. 100% of proceeds from both the Greenbush/matching donations and raffle ticket purchases will benefit the organizations present at Greenbush on April 15.
